The John Carter-riffing Gullivar Jones story was all right. They apparently were OK with leaving Gray Morrow off the leash of the Marvel house style, though the dialogue hews closer to it. Though I don't know... maybe it's just pulpy, wise-cracking stuff, actually... hmmm...
Joe Sinnott was a great artist, but the other standout for me is the Larry Lieber/Matt Fox art. Fox's eerie inking gives the lightweight story some real menace. Did Fox ever ink Kirby? That would be a combination to see!
I am nit sure Fox inked Kirby but he inked a few more Larry Lieber tales. I love Gray Morrows art. I bought this book back in the day too. Fantatic Steranko cover as well.
