  1. Prime artwork by Ditko, and decent enough stories as well.

    It's interesting in that first story that both examples of Earth aggression revolve around American armed conflict. I guess even in the fifties there was ambivalence about the atom bombing of Hiroshima, but you almost never see the American war of independence put in a negative light. Both American forces and British forces are put on a par of wrongness here.

    It's also interesting that throughout the Ditko stories the less human-looking extraterrestrials are altruistic & good and the essentially human-looking ones are warmongering & evil.

    Not as in-your-face as EC would have done it--quite low-key, actually--but there you have it: beware humans.

  2. Yes Interesting points on these tales. This is classic Ditko as you said and it's interesting that he was also drawing for Marvel the same time. Mr. Ditko was quite prolific
