I wouldn't say those were the best stories ever (nor the worst, mind you), but that is EXCELLENT story-telling & cartooning. Lucey really made that scooter story dramatic, starting with that overhead angle on the first page. Veronica swooping around on the thing is another high point. And the wildness story has great imagery throughout, especially all those scene-setting, long panels like on the first page and at the girls camp. Both stories are just exciting & fun to look at.
ReplyDeleteLucey was incredible. His Archie tales were so much fun to read as a kid and more so now. I think the archie tales around the late 60's and early 70's were his best.
