That was completely nuts AND completely awesome! From the get-go with the narrator's whole, insane I-know-the-signs-of-a-werewolf-when-I-see-them, through the dark fairy tale domestic goings-on with the werewolf, and culminating with that pitch black sardonic ending... it's pre-code comic book horror gold! Paul Reinman did a fantastic job with the art as well. I like his 60s work for ACG, Tower & so on, but this just resonates that much more. Just excellent!
I love the ending to this one! An actually happy ending--well except for the poor guys the gals bring home for dinner--literally. Also, the actual cover to this comic is hilarious because while it does feature a werewolf on the cover, it reads "The Vampire Takes a Wife!" instead!

ReplyDeleteYes this is one of the best Paul Reinman art jobs I have ever seen. The story was great too. This would be a great tale for a horror anthology film
