I really like Matt Baker's romance work. The whole I-fell-in-love-with-your-picture-so-it's-OK-if-I-trick-you-into-liking-me is creepy, but at least it wasn't as nationalistic as I feared. The American does end up with the American, but the initially wrong pro-French sentiments of the girl are balanced by later right pro-French sentiments of the guy... even if it is a creepy guy.
ReplyDeleteMatt Baker was such a great artist. His work was fantastic in the 1950's. It's so sad he died so young. As far as the story goes, it was just OK. The art though was fantastic.
