Carl Wessler HAD to be intending a gay subtext, don't you think? It's kinda hard to know how to take it, though. Stony is the nicest, most caring person in the story, but he's also throwing himself at someone who's clearly not interested in him & that's a bit pathetic. So, positive or negative portrayal? I don't know...

Ramona Fradon was always a favorite artist of mine. I loved Metamorpho back when she drew the book.
