This stuff has a certain charm, and Montana was skilled, but there is a by-the-numbers quality to the writing. Frank Doyle would really up the ante in the comic books from around this time on.

Oh yeah those early Archie comics were rough. The guys got better in the 50's. Could Frank Doyle be the most prolific comic book writer of all time?
