  1. When Bruce Lee died there were rereleases of his movies with leftover footage, reedited footage and stand ins to make it appear the films were made during Lee's lifetime. This comic touched on this but used a different name for the King-Fu star to avoid having to pay for Lee's name.

  2. Game of Death was one of those movies that you mentioned and then there were all those Clones Of Bruce Lee style movies too. I enjoy them.

  3. Well, I think Keith Giffen missed his true calling: this is a quite accurate & 100% appropriate pastiche of Paul Gulacy's art on MASTER OF KUNG-FU. Giffen should've been working for MAD or CRACKED (or at least CRAZY). He could've been another Willie Elder (a Willie Elder the Younger, even)!

  4. Keith Giffen had many art styles. In the eighties I hated his work. Now he is a Kirby Clone. This was a good tale though and I liked the art.

  5. And Gulacy's art on Master Of Kung Fu was a Steranko pastiche.

  6. Oh, no, I agree, though I think Gulacy calmed down Steranko's style and kept things better aimed at telling the story.

My point was Elder is/was praised for appropriating others' art styles and Giffen is/was dumped on for it. Context is everything, and it's too bad he can't/couldn't find one to justify it to everyone's approval.
