I think it was probably less a question of effort than of time. He might not have thought it out this way, but giving both companies the same hourly rate would mean more time per page for Warren versus Charlton, though the same amount of effort could have been being expended per hour. If you see what I mean.
I think the artists maybe tried to do better work for Warren, But the time element is correct more pages equals more money. Some of Boyette's earlier Flash Gordon issues were very polished. I will post them,
Pat Boyette's work here is much more polished than the work he did for Charlton, either he improved with time or gave less than 100% for Charlton.
