Ditko's work in black, white and shades of grey sometimes surpassed his work when colored. The book seller Murch was an original character while Colin Danforth had traces of J Jonah Jameson in his appearance and Marquis Lemode was loosely based on Dr. Strange. I guess Ditko would recycle his characters from time to time, but with his talent, no one can fault him for that.
This is one of my favorite Ditko stories. A Warren comics classic. Ditko was an amazing artist and did some of his best work in the earlier issues of Creepy and Eerie,
With all due respect to fans of different eras and different artists, THIS is the ultimate Warren horror story. A creepy-crawly masterpiece of the first order, full of slimy characters who deserve what's coming to them... including a final threat to the reader themselves.
