This would have made a great Twilight Zone episode on TV when Serling was writer and host.
ReplyDeleteThis tale wouldn't be well received if made nowadays with so many hyper sensitive types in the world today. Portraying Confederates in a positive light, even if they were Confederate Ghosts, would outrage those who could not or would not grasp the idea that it is only a ghost story and has nothing to do with politics.
Just as in the days of The Civil War, the nation is deeply and bitterly divided, I just hope it doesn't lead to Civil War 2.
I really do think this story could have been on TV back in the 60's.
